K3 Teacher Cory Week 3

Week 3 (9/15-9/19)

Dear Families,

Next week in class, our students will be studying the vowel pair ay. This vowel team makes the long a sound, as in the words day, play, and tray. We will practice reading, and using these words in fun and meaningful activities. We will also do an exercise to review word families ail, aid, ain, ait.

K3 Teacher Cory Week 2 Recap

 Week 2 (9/8-9/12)

This week in kindergarten, we explored three new word families: -aid, -ain, and -ait.

The children practiced reading and saying words that belong to each family:

  • -aid words like maid, paid, raid, laid

  • -ain words like rain, pain, main, gain

  • -ait words like bait, wait, trait

Students learned how changing just the first letter can create many different words.

On top of this we continued our reading of Gale's Cake pages 6-9.

I hope you all had as much fun as I did this week.
